Albert Einstein, his theories of relativity revolutionized our understanding of the fabric of space and time. Artwork done on bristol board, using encil crayon, black gessoe paint for the space background, and airbrushed colours, Prismacolour pencils.

Queen

I used the Drew Struzan method of airbrushing over pencil drawing on water colour paper and rendering the forms with prismacolour pencil. Everything but the lettering is real materials on 20" x 14 water colour paper. I even added the lens flare with the airbrush. I added the title added digitally.

Mr. Bean

Mr.Bean, played by Rowan Atkinson. I just wanted to do a large portrait and had good photo reference. 9 x 12 Acrylic on gessoed masonite board, the gessso is really good to paint on.

Conan the Barbarian fighting goblins

As a tribute to Frank Frazetta (February 9, 1928 – May 10, 2010) one of my favourite artists and the artist who made Conan the Barbarian an icon of fantasy art, this is my second attempt at this painting and I'm happier with it. I used acrylic washes and prismacolour pencils on illustration board. If your not familiar with Frazetta you should check out his artwork.

Space Planet

A 50's era sci-fi theme. I tried out acrylics on a canvas board. It's good for blending colours but leaves a rough texture that i had to smooth it out in photoshop.

Swamp Planet

A fairly loose water colour painting with some coloured pencil. It could be a rough colour study for the cover to a sci fi novel. Two explorers encounter a creature in the swamps of a distant planet and draw their weapons, although they don`t know if the creature is hostile or not. I decided to put fins on there helmets because maybe they swim in their suits also, and of course the alien on a swamp planet has a fin on his head. I was also thinking of calling this piece Finheads.

Portrait of David Carradine as Bill from the movie Kill Bill. I drew it with pencil and painted directly over top with acrylic wash and opaque paint, and some pencil crayons.

Viking Battle

A peaceful negotiation between 11th century vikings. This took a while because of all the characters. It's not perfect but I'm getting used to working with acrylic paints. Also did the rough sketch for the painting.

Star Wars Sketches

Some pencil sketches based on Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, and the first of the new decade! They were playing all the movies non stop on tv during the holidays so I wanted to draw some of the characters.
